This blog post describes the content of the video, which you can see below:
In this video, we go to the city of Tromsø, where we stay a while and meet some new friends along the way.
Tromsø
We drive to Tromsø where we stay on a very expensive camping. But all the normal spots are full, and we get an overflow spot next to the river, which is also cheaper. A double win for us as we prefer these spots to the nicely-in-a-row spots.
It’s a very wet beginning of August, and we only go out to take walks with Isa for the first few days that we are here. We can see the river getting bigger and gaining speed every time we go out.
A few days later, it’s dry enough that we decide to take the bikes into the city of Tromsø. The city is known for its outdoor activities, both in summer and winter. But the city itself is also very cute, with a lot of wooden houses and a lively city centre.

Meeting other van lifers
While in Tromsø, Natalie started texting with an English lady that was in the neighbourhood of Tromsø too, and that would love to meet. So we decided to meet in the city with Emma and Jan. Emma had just started her travels as a vanlifer and this was one of the first places she was visiting. Jan, however, has already been travelling on and off for 3+ years in his self-build van.

We also meet Tarja, a PHD researcher that is researching van life and its effects on tourism. We wondered a bit if we could call ourselves vanlifers, with our motorhome, but the decision was that it is all about the way you live and travel in the van or camper, not what your ‘house’ looks like.
We liked hanging out with Jan and Emma and decided to travel to the next spot together with our three different campers. For how long? Well, you will just have to see in our next vlogs…
