In this video, we show you what vanlife is like a lot of times too. Easy times, with a lot of household tasks, work, and chilling. But we also visit a cool mountain bike park and some cute villages.
Vanlife
Camperlife isn’t always flashy as we show you in this video. First, we go to an outlet for some shopping, then head to a campsite for some downtime. We take the opportunity to do laundry, work, chat with family, and relax for a bit. We try to be mindful of the food we buy and make an effort to use everything left in our pantry. That’s why we ended up making chicken soup with some vegetables that were starting to wilt.
Road trouble?
After leaving the campsite, we heard a strange noise coming from the right tire. It sounded serious, so we carefully drove to the nearest garage. Unfortunately, they were too busy to help us for the next three weeks!
They suggested another workshop we could try, but only after checking to make sure it was safe to continue driving. Luckily, the quick assessment showed no major problems, so we continued on to the next garage. They were also too busy and gave us yet another address. But while driving to this third place, the sound suddenly stopped, and everything seemed fine again. We were relieved it wasn’t anything serious, as we would have been stuck for weeks waiting for repairs.
Bike Park Rides
Marten, the avid mountain biker that he is, found a mountain bike park online. The park has a number of technical trails that he is interested in exploring. While Marten was busy mountain biking, Natalie stayed at the camper and worked on her business. Although she enjoyed the peace and quiet, she couldn’t help but feel a little envious of Marten’s adventures. But at the same time, Natalie is not that adventurous and is a bit scared of the pace and heights.
Visiting Cute Spots
We visited the town of Pitea in terrible weather and discovered a very cool clothing shop where Marten happily spent some money. Afterwards, we drove to a parking spot near the forest, where we enjoyed a nice walk the following day despite the rain.
Our next destination was Gammelstad, the old town of Lulea. Due to land elevation, the town had to be relocated after the harbour became too shallow. This led to the establishment of the new town of Lulea next to the old town. Gammelstad is well-known for its well-preserved wooden church village, which is one of the most significant and extensive examples of this type of village in Sweden. The church village was established in the 17th century and consists of over 400 traditional houses painted in a distinctive red colour. These houses were built to provide accommodation for parishioners who had to travel long distances to attend church.
Today, Gammelstad is a popular tourist destination that attracts visitors from all over the world who come to explore the beautiful surroundings and learn about the town’s fascinating history.
