In this video, we are back home! And it feels very weird to be back. Let’s tell you why.
Back Home
We start our vlog back home. We just arrived yesterday and only unpacked what was necessary. So this day, we need to do more unpacking and cleaning up.
We are feeling a little bit confused now about what to do and how to feel. Having so much space in the house is very weird, and we aren’t sure if we wouldn’t prefer the camper over this. It’s not all bad, it’s nice to have this much space, and to have all the amenities, but it’s just weird.
Isa is confused as well. We are not near her when she wakes up anymore, and she can’t wake us up. And she misses nature. So we went for a nice walk with her to help her relax a bit.

But when we get back, Marten realises we will now be doing the same walks every day again, and not see something new every day.
Issues in the house
It is fabulous of course, to have a washing machine available and we want to clean everything. However, we notice that the water is coming out of the drain. So Marten has to figure out what is going on. In the end, it turns out that the pipes are clogged, and he has to saw a part out and fix that to get the water down again.
Catching up with family
The good thing about being back is that we get to catch up with family. We went to see Marten’s sister and brother-in-law and their kids. Since it is gorgeous weather, we decide to go for a walk. It’s the end of October and the trees show their autumn colours.

We also catch up with Natalie’s parents. They come to visit us, and again we go for a nice walk. We really got used to being outside and love taking all these walks.

What’s next?
People keep asking us what is next and what we are going to do. Are we going to travel more? Will Marten get a new job? What else could we do? And the answer always is that we don’t know yet. And we are taking this time to figure that out.
There is so much to take into account that we don’t know yet how things will go, and we don’t want to make decisions too quickly while everything in the house still feels so weird. We are taking our time to get used to home life again before we decide on anything, though we are starting to know what we don’t want.
Visiting Leiden
A few days later, we travel to Leiden, to Natalie’s family, for a family weekend with a family reunion on Sunday. The first evening we catch up with Natalie’s siblings and have a nice dinner in Leiden.

The next day we take the bike from our camp spot to Leiden to go hang out in the city again. We walk through the centre where there is a big Saturday market going on. We eat haring and go to a pop-up shop full of ‘pepernoten’, a Dutch December treat.

We end the weekend with coffee in the sun at our campgrounds before driving to the family reunion. It felt so natural to be away with the camper again; that was really nice. So we are now discussing if we want to keep travelling. So stay tuned!
